Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using PDF Wand at pdfwand.xyz ("the Service"), operated by PDF Wand ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

PDF Wand provides a free, browser-based PDF editing platform. The Service includes tools for editing PDFs locally in your browser (adding text, erasing, signing, inserting images, reordering and deleting pages), as well as server-assisted features including file conversion between formats and PDF compression.

For conversion and compression features, your file is temporarily transmitted to our secure server, processed, and returned to you. Files are automatically deleted from our servers immediately after processing and in all cases within one hour. We do not store, read, or share your file contents.

2. Eligibility

By using PDF Wand, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.

3. No Account Required

PDF Wand does not require user registration or account creation. We do not collect personal information beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
Use the Service to process documents you do not have the legal right to modify
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our servers or related systems
Use the Service to process, store, or transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory

5. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

Ensuring you have the legal right to edit and modify any documents you process using the Service
The content of any PDF files you edit, convert, or compress
Maintaining backups of your original files before using the Service
Complying with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction

6. Intellectual Property

PDF Wand does not claim any ownership rights over the files you upload or the documents you create using the Service. Your content remains yours.

The Service itself — including its source code, design, branding, and functionality — is the intellectual property of PDF Wand and is protected by copyright and applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our express written permission.

7. Advertising

PDF Wand is a free service supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. By using the Service, you acknowledge that advertisements may be displayed. We do not endorse any advertised products or services. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

9. File Size and Usage Limits

We reserve the right to impose reasonable file size limits and usage rate limits to ensure fair access and protect service quality for all users. Current limits are displayed within the Service interface.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR CONTINUOUSLY AVAILABLE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PDFWAND SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed ZAR 100 (one hundred South African Rand).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold PDF Wand harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
